  PROTECTING GOD'S CHILDREN..............

Child sexual abuse can happen to anyone at anytime. And we are not helpless to prevent it. We need to be aware of warning signs, control access to our children, and develop an effective way to safeguard them from offenders. PROTECTING GOD'S CHILDREN...is a national program for adults. It's goal is to increase awareness of the ways that children may be at risk and to present a plan that offers protection and safety for them.
This program is a REQUIREMENT.....FOR ALL WHO WISH TO SERVE IN OUR PARISH IN ANY CAPACITY
SAINT JAMES PARISH BINGO............
On Monday March 24th, 2014, I was respectfully informed that the Bingo leadership team was resigning and that the leadership team had informed the Mass State Lottery of the same decision and would be ending the Wednesday night Bingo at St. James as of April 9, 2014. I expressed to the head of the leadership team my regret at seeing Bingo close and at the same time my respect for the right of the Bingo leadership team to choose to resign and my thanks for all that the team and all workers have done. They have contributed so much to St. James. They have my deepest thanks !!

On that day that I was informed of the decision, in addition to reaching out to each member of the St. James finance and pastoral councils with a personal phone call, I called the Archdiocese and was given immediate and complete assurance they would financially see us through whatever challenges this change brings.

As we approach Easter, we take heart in Jesus' resurrection, his love for us, and our love for eachother. We know that God holds us in the palm of His hands.
May God bless you ! With warm regards.

2012 Cheverus Award Winners
Last Sunday at the Cathedral, Cardinal O'Malley awarded the Archdiocesan Cheverus Awards celebrating excellence in service to the Church. I am honored to announce that David and Anne DeVoe from our parish family will be receiving this honor. Leaders in so many ways, David and Anne represent, in their way of life, the essence of ministry and for all they do, we are grateful. Thank You and congratulations to two great disciples of Christ.

Answering the Call To Service

Have you ever had an inner feeling that you have a call to do something for your parish, but you didn't know how to go about it..Well read on...

St. James is in urgent need of some parishioner, male, female or couples to help prepare the items needed for Mass each weekend. It would be great if we had at least a team of 12+ people so that this ministry would not be burdensome but enjoyable. Please pray and search your hearts and listen to the call from Jesus. If interested, please call or e-mail me.
It would be a pleasure to assist you in your training and participation in the important ministry. Thanks and until we get together, God Bless !!
